SCREENSHOT NOTER

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Screenshot Noter Chrome extension handles when you capture an image, sign in, or buy Pro. Last updated October 13, 2026.

Screenshots and page details

When you choose to capture a tab, the extension saves the visible image, page title, URL, and capture time in Chrome’s extension session storage. Notes and edits stay in the browser while you work. You can choose whether the page details appear in an exported image.

Screenshot Noter does not upload screenshots, notes, or page details to our servers. You choose when to copy an image to your clipboard or save it to your device. Anything you later share from your clipboard or device is under your control.

Settings and account data

The extension stores capture timer settings and a count of extension opens locally in Chrome to remember preferences and show onboarding. If you sign in for Pro, it also stores your Google account identifier, email address, display name, authentication tokens, and verified Pro status in restricted extension storage. An unpaid sign-in is cleared after the browser session; a paid sign-in can persist so Pro access can be restored.

Google sign-in runs through Firebase Authentication. Our Firebase Cloud Functions verify your account token, and a Firebase database keeps a Pro entitlement record tied to your account identifier. These services receive account and authentication information needed to sign you in and confirm your purchase. They do not receive your screenshots or notes.

Payments

Pro checkout takes place on Stripe. We send your Firebase account identifier to Stripe to connect a successful purchase to your account. Stripe handles payment details, including card information; the extension does not receive your card number. Our server records the Checkout and payment identifiers, purchase date, amount, currency, and Pro status so it can grant and restore access.

Sharing, retention, and choices

We use Google/Firebase for authentication and entitlement records, and Stripe for checkout and payment confirmation. We do not sell user data, use it for personalized advertising, or transfer it for purposes unrelated to Screenshot Noter. Providers may process information under their own Google and Stripe privacy policies.

Chrome session storage holds the current screenshot and edits until they are replaced or the browser session ends. Saved images remain wherever you put them. Signing out removes the extension’s stored sign-in state. We retain purchase records as needed to restore Pro and maintain payment records. For account or purchase data questions, including deletion requests, email screenshotnoter@gmail.com.

Limited Use

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use that information only to provide Screenshot Noter’s capture and Pro features.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy if the extension or its data practices change. The current version will appear here with a revised date. Questions can be sent to screenshotnoter@gmail.com.
